song of my Siren Mother

May 17, 2012

you siren,

of unearthly beauty-

goddess, crash-landed

from another realm-

this abhorrent world tormenting you,

fading your smiles into naught

but portrayals, wistful of the

merriment you once knew-

rapture absconded,

does paradise await?

let it not vex you, my sweet,

the four of us will verge,

on one breath forthwith-

this poem is as much for my siblings and i as it was in memorandum to our mother…. may she rest in peace wherever she is.
